How did it begin?

The journey of coffee in India began around four hundred years ago, when the legendary Indian saint "Baba Budan" smuggled seven magical beans from distant Yemen and planted them in Chandragiri Hills of Karnataka (Coorg, Southern India) in 1670

Unlike other types of coffee in the world that are grown under direct sun light, the India coffees are grown under shade. India is the only country that grows all its coffees under shade.

India is the 6th largest producer of coffee in the world. About 70% of the Indian coffee production is exported. It is often said, the Indian coffee grower pours its life into the crop.
